A list of the creatures who currently call 1 Day Ranch “home”. I promise better pictures ASAP!
Neon, approx. 6yrs old Paint
Neon is one of the newest additions. Her and her baby came to my place on November 7, 2011. She was kept in a lot with no food or water for many months. She is a fighter. The day we went to rescue her she would charge, kick, bite, strike… you name it. She REALLY hates men. Her best friend collapsed while we were trying to rescue him, he didnt make it. That is probably part of why she is mentally not doing too well.. but she is already turning around. She is letting me touch her and she is eating well. She needs to gain a LOT of weight. She is the one in the front of the pic with the bright blue eye.

Neon’s baby (still deciding on a name), No idea on age. Around 8mos-1yr approx. Paint
This baby is beautiful. Or well, she will be. Shes scary skinny. and has a bad parasite infestation. She has amazing markings. She has never been worked with-at all.. However, she seems smart and inquisitive. She looks like her daddy who is the horse who didnt make it after collapsing while we were trying to rescue him. I hope she has his kind personality and her moms determination. If so she will make 1 awesome horse. Our next step is to get a halter on her…She is the one with more black on her in front.

Jessie, 6-8yrs old. No clue what kind of horse she is.
Jessie is my funny girl. She thinks she runs the WHOLE barn. (and she kinda does some of the time). Her nickname is “Fancy” because she thinks she is the fanciest thing ever. She prances around like a princess. She came to us near death, starved to the point of all her hair falling out. Pneumonia in both lungs, and she is blind in her left eye. (A product of being beat with a metal blunt object) But she has made AMAZING progress. She is almost ready to start training! (that is, if she isnt pregnant… yup, there is a chance!)

Jasmine, 20+yrs old, Arabian
Jasmine (or Jazzy as I call her frequently) is a doll. She is currently up for adoption. Though, she will only go under VERY strict guidelines. Jasmine is elderly though you would never know it. She had a horrible injury to her hips which the owners who also almost starved her to death obviously didnt fix. This has crippled her hind end. She is not in any pain but she can NEVER be ridden or hold any weight other than her own ever again. She is a companion animal and she is great at that. :-) Shes a sweetheart and actually a lovely girl. She deserves to be loved for the rest of her life no matter how long that may be.

Max, approx 3-4yrs old, Morgan horse (possibly mixed with Welsh Pony)
Max is a little man with a big attitude. He shows off any chance he gets… He came to me after an injury to his face was left untreated and caused a massive infection resulting in surgery that had to remove a tooth and a large chunk of bone in his jaw. However, he is recovering wonderfully! Now that he feels better he never wants to stand still! (which is why I dont have a good updated pic of him at the moment-but I will soon!) He will be ready to start training soon as well. Very excited to see what this little guy can do!
